The Royal Court is a high end character company that consists of professionally trained Actors and Vocalists in all character roles. Producing the highest, Theme Park quality character experience in Houston, Texas, we offer every type of magical experience that you or the little dreamer in your life could ever wish for. Whether we are doing large public events on beautiful, shining stages or performing right in the middle of your living room, we treat every performance like it is the most important one.
All of our costumes are handmade with high quality materials and embellishments that bring these iconic, beloved looks to life. Our wigs are styled over a period of hours to days to create the smoothed, voluminous, beautiful styles that we all know and love. Our dedicated cast has received specific, detailed training to know the characters that they portray just as well as they know themselves.
Our party experience is not your average Princess Party. In fact, our party activity lineup is completely unique to our company. When our character arrives fully in costume and in character, they are accompanied by a dedicated character attendant that handles all of the activities, music and magic to ensure that the performance remains authentic from beginning to end. Our story time is a full blown production that involves all of the children attending the event and allows them to play a role in our story. Our characters know their stories and do not read from books, this way the entire performance feels just like a live production right in your living room.
Our Owner
Abby Gough
Coming from a family of performers, Abby got her start in the entertainment business singing on stages with her father and grandfather at the ripe old age of 8 years old. Soon she would begin writing her own songs and releasing her own music to be played on radio stations across the country. By the age of 17 years old, Abby had performed on over 1,000 stages in the US. That same year, she won the CMA of Texas “female Rising Star of the Year” award. This was a big year for her as it was also the first year Abby opened her first Character Entertainment company and began her career as a princess performer bringing to life beloved Princesses at various family events in the Houston area.
In Abby’s 10 years of Princess performing, she has never received anything less than a 5 star review. Clients and guests have raved about Abby’s ability to go above and beyond as her characters, professionalism, outstanding service and of course her professionally trained singing voice that she has had the privilege of sharing with the world since childhood.
In 2018, Abby decided to close her first princess company and work only on the performer side of the business working for other local companies while navigating her career as a Professional Musical Theatre Performer. Starring in lead roles in smash hit musicals and plays such as Audrey in “Little Shop of Horrors” Belle in “Beauty and the Beast” and Blanche in “A Streetcar Named Desire.” In fall of 2025, Abby decided it was time to take her two careers and blend them together. Creating The Royal Court, a company specifically designed for dinner theatre, shows and live events but also in home party performances that make you feel like you are in the middle of a musical. Your little one’s favorite princess singing their favorite song that they scream every word to whenever it is played. Your favorite character from childhood performing your favorite song that still fills your heart with joy to this very day. Moments that created memories that last a lifetime. Abby has a clear vision to keep alive the magic of live theatre and characters that forever live inside our hearts and souls and is so excited to be doing that here at The Royal Court.
